Girls Support Girls (GSG)

Empowering girls to build the confidence, self-esteem and knowledge they need to take control of their futures and reach their full potential

Girls Support Girls (GSG) is an inspiring drama-based workshop programme designed to empower vulnerable young women aged 11–16. Through drama, discussion and creative learning, GSG enables participants to develop the confidence, resilience and self-awareness needed to navigate challenges, make positive choices and build successful futures.

Empowering young women.

Designed for young women who are disengaging and need additional support, GSG tackles critical issues in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that builds resilience and enables girls to grow confidence in themselves and their abilities.

Each programme accommodates up to 25 young women, creating a space where they feel heard, valued and inspired. GSG confronts real-life challenges, develops their voice and builds the confidence and self-worth needed to make positive choices about their futures.

The school-based programme includes 5 hours of engaging and thought-provoking activities, delivered either in one full day intensive workshop or in two 2.5-hour sessions over two weeks.

Students engaged really well. They told me they had a good time and thanked me for choosing them to participate!”

— Hodo Mohamed, Career’s and Transition Officer, Bow School,

“I enjoyed the games that we played and when we saw how much sugar we are putting [in] our body and how it can affect us later on in life. I also enjoyed where we recognised the unhealthy and healthy relationships with others. I think this is helpful for later on in life and it helps us to understand an abusive and toxic relationship.”

— Participant, aged 14, Eastbury Community School,
London Borough of Barking and Dagenham
