So, you’re a teacher, we’re a theatre company.
You know all about our shows and workshops.
But what else can we do?
The answer is... A LOT!
As well as providing workshops that support our shows in schools, we have a great reputation for developing tailored issue-based sessions to meet a range of school needs.
Here are just a few examples of the ways we’ve helped all sorts of educational establishments, from infant schools to Sixth Form colleges, with our workshops…
Focus days/ off timetable days/ drop down days
Anti-bullying week and other themed weeks
As part of the Extended Schools programme after school and in the holidays
In class time as part of the Citizenship, Drama and PSHE curriculums
Supporting the Healthy Schools Scheme, SEAL, the ten principles of PSHE and Every Child Matters outcomes
“Chain Reaction staff were friendly energetic and approachable. The session was interactive and fun. The students were able to articulate their ideas because of the welcoming atmosphere.”
Rachel Walsh, English Teacher, Bridge Academy, London Borough of Hackney
“It was helpful and open and
it didn’t make us uncomfortable and we were able to speak about it confidently [...]

Pupil, age 14,
How can we offer so many different types of support?
Because we’re flexible! Since we began offering workshops in schools in the 1990s we’ve made it our mission to be as flexible as possible, so that we can really help schools achieve their goals in a way that works for them. That’s why we devise our workshops so that they’re tailored to your specific requirements – whether you want one hour or a whole day, whether you want us to focus on one particular aspect of an issue or take a more general approach, whether you want us to work with a small specially selected group of pupils or a whole class (or, over the course of a day, a whole year group)!
Whatever the issue, time or venue, we’ll do our very best to give you exactly what you want and give your pupils an unforgettable learning experience, and every one of our workshops is run by our fun, friendly, experienced and fully DBS-checked facilitators, so you know they’re in good hands.
And did you know we also work with specialist groups of young people?
In fact, often working with these groups is especially rewarding as we can get through to these young people in a way that others find difficult. We’re very experienced in engaging specialist groups, including vulnerable young people who are at risk of social exclusion due to a range of factors (including young offenders, NEETs, and those displaying anti-social behaviours) and we also work regularly with those with varied social, emotional and behavioural problems, and physical disabilities.
We’ve worked with Youth Offending Teams (YOTs), Youth Inclusion & Support Panels (YISPs), Specialist Educational Units (SEUs), Tuition Centres, Reception and Reintegration Units, Behaviour Support Units and special schools, and have had some truly glowing reports from teachers and support staff at these types of organisations.
“Chain Reaction has been involved
in the Centre for some time […] The pupils here
are extremely vulnerable and bring with them
a host of emotional and social issues, such as neglect, substance abuse, under age drinking,
sexual promiscuity and the like. I have found Chain Reaction, and the work it does, to be an excellent way of reaching our pupils and giving them the space to get in touch and acknowledge their feelings whilst addressing positively the
issues in their lives.”
