Optional accompanying workshops

Each performance can be accompanied by an interactive workshop giving pupils or attendees the perfect opportunity to learn, explore and debate more on the important issues raised in the production they have just enjoyed.

These workshops are a real hands-on affair and can prove just as valuable as the production itself. Proven drama techniques such as role play and improvisation are combined with lively quizzes and vibrant discussion to give each and every audience member the chance to explore their own individual views and express them to the group in a safe yet stimulating environment. Please check availability of performances prior to booking.

Hot seating

Many of our performances are also accompanied by an inclusive 'hot seating' session which gives young people a chance to interact with the characters of the show. Audiences can ask the main characters of the piece their own questions, allowing the children to empathise with the characters and to express their own views about the subject in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

Teachers' Resource packs

Many of our shows are also accompanied by a resource for teachers/educators that acts as a support tool to help teachers expand on the themes of the theatrical performance. Resource packs include ideas for activities that can take place in preparation for Chain Reaction's visit, activities to extend the learning potential of Chain Reaction's visit and information about the issue in focus, and signpost where to go for further help.
