In our noisy, task-focused world, it is increasingly difficult to get your messages across to a valuable client or employee. Chain Reaction’s unique approach can help.
Informative training performances for professional audiences have been an important part of our company’s work since its inception. We have a wide client base including Health Care Professionals, Teachers, Community Workers, Police and the Judicial Service. Our shows are ideal for performance at conferences, workshops or training events. They focus an audience on the key themes, and provide a creative and humorous element to any event.
We tailor our work to meet your individual needs. Chain Reaction excels in the devising and writing of new and innovative scripts which address your own specific requirements. From a short sketch to a full length production we will get your message across in a memorable and inspiring way.

These sketches were performed at a Food and Low Income Seminar to professionals who work with young people or who may have an interest in or responsibility for food issues. The aim of the seminar was to highlight the real barriers to healthy eating experienced by individuals and families on low income. Each sketch had its own message and performances were staggered throughout the day. These patients can often be unstable and very vulnerable when they finally get up the courage to seek help. The last thing they need is a sniggering receptionist or a judgmental GP when they come into the practice. Our play shows the importance of treating each patient with respect and dignity whatever problem they may come to the practice with.
The show played to a total of 750 General Practitioners and surgery staff, over three conference dates and proved to make a real impact on their opinions and working practices.
Essex Police commissioned Chain Reaction to facilitate a training event designed to promote awareness of the potential dangers of consuming a ‘spiked drink’.
A mock court was set up and actresses played the roles of a judge, court martial and a victim of sexual assault following a drink spiking incident. The whole day took on this form and once the ‘victim’ had given her evidence, speakers from the Metropolitan Police ‘Sapphire’ Team, Jill Dando Institute for Crime Science, the Roofie Foundation, the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Chelmsford Police Crime Reduction Team, the Forensic Science Service, and a lawyer, all gave their perspectives on tackling the issue of ‘drink spiking’.
The presentation was a huge success and the company performed to an audience of 175 including members of the licensing trade, local authority staff, police officers, and those who have dealings with potential victims.
Working in partnership with Shropshire Health Authority, Chain Reaction devised and performed four tailor made sketches exploring alcohol. We were given the brief below and asked to punctuate each point with the use of drama.

Working in partnership with Waltham Forest Health Authority, Chain Reaction Theatre Company was asked to write and devise a fifteen minute production for pharmacists. The NSPCC commissioned a survey amongst the residents of Tilbury in Essex to find out how the community felt about their children’s’ safety in the area. The purpose of the survey was to enable the NSPCC to identify problems and issues the community felt compromised their children’s’ safety. We then to looked at ways in which these problems could be resolved. Working alongside the NSPCC, Chain Reaction wrote two, fifteen minute pieces of theatre. The first looked at the results of the survey. The second looked at ways in which the community could work together to make Tilbury a better and safer place for their children to live. It also helped the residents of Tilbury feel more positive about their local community.
