National Tackling Drugs Day Event - Ali G at D’Barking Town Hall
Wednesday 23rd May was National Tackling Drugs Day. The Barking and Dagenham Drug and Alcohol Action Team had an event at Barking Town Hall to launch their new treatment system for adults and young people across the borough. Chain Reaction were asked to perform ‘Know Your Mind’ at the event which has recently enjoyed a successful tour of schools in the borough as part of their drugs education. 100 delegates crammed into a small hall on a very hot day to watch us do our thing and it was great fun. The piece is aimed at 9-11 year olds but the adult audience proved to be game from start to finish and it was great to see the Mayor (who was sat in the front row) chuckle along to our antics. The day was also guest to Vernon Coaker MP, Under Secretary of State for Policing, Security & Community Safety…pheww!
THANK YOU!! Can’t tell you guys enough how well your performance went down with all those who watched it on Wednesday, feedback was so positive. As always you guys delivered, not that I ever doubted!!“ Saleena Sreed-Haran, Young Persons Substance Misuse Commisioner, Barking and Dagenham DAAT
